La Torre di Pila

La Torre di Pila

The original building was built around a 15th century watchtower. In 1700 it was owned by the noble family of the Marquises Monaldi who built a large house with a garden.

At the beginning of the 20th century it passed to the Bartoccini family and later to the Congregazione di Carità of Perugia.

In 1930 Count Francesco Maria Guardabassi, a versatile artist, purchased the property and entrusted its reconstruction to the architect Ugo Tarchi of Rome.

In 1989, after a period of abandonment lasting about forty years, the property was acquired by the current owner Maurizio Petrini who restored its ancient splendor by restoring the villa, garden and park.

The Villa is surrounded by an Italian garden and a park with fountains, a swimming pool, a swan pond and a small amphitheatre. Both are of considerable historical interest as they testify to the taste of the time.
