We suggest booking your flight 6 or 5 months prior to your departure for the best rate. We do, however, reccomended booking accomodtions as soon as you can since hotels in Italy tend to have limited rooms.

Florence: 2 hr drive o 2 hr 45 min train to Perugia or - S. Francesco d'Assisi Airport, Perugia (PEG) Perugia: 25 minutes drive or taxis

We recommend renting a car if you plan to venture out of Perugia. The city of Perugia is very walkable if you are staying near the city center. At Fiumicino Airport in Rome it is super easy to rent a car and drive towards Perugia. All the car rental companies are located in the same spot. We recommend booking a car in advance and choosing full insurance since cars easily gets scratched due to small parking lots throughout Italy. For best service choose SIXT.
